Tom Grimbert is a French photographer born in 1994 and based between Normandy and Moscow in Russia.
During his education in a business school, he discovers Russia and become fascinated by photography while walking the streets of Moscow with a Soviet camera and black & white films.
He develops his photographic eye gradually through the study of masters such as Cartier-Bresson and Alexander Rodchenko. Through street photography, he documents life in a transitioning Russia, observing contradictions, chaos and hopes.
Since 2019, he has been collaborating with major French and international press titles and continues his documentary work.
He photographs scenes of religious processions near the Volga River, the daily life of people living beyond the Arctic Circle on the Kola Peninsula. His long-term approach focuses on Russian society, caught between a desire for change and a growing isolation.
Tom speaks French, English, Spanish and Russian
Member of the Hans Lucas photo agency since 2019.
